The Extron CS 1226T Plus SpeedMount^® Ceiling Speaker System is a patented low profile, plenum rated two-piece speaker system. It is comprised of a CS 120P plenum rated enclosure and a CS 26T Plus two‑way speaker cartridge. The CS 120P enclosure installs quickly into 2' x 2' (61 cm x 61 cm) or metric 600 mm x 600 mm suspended ceiling grids. The CS 26T Plus speaker cartridge features a 6.5" (165 mm) woofer and a 3/4" (19 mm) ferrofluid-cooled dome tweeter in a coaxial design, with an innovative tweeter bridge that delivers smooth off-axis response. It offers wide 112° conical coverage for flexibility in speaker spacing, and can be used in 70/100 volt or 8 ohm operation. The CS 1226T Plus is available as a complete assembly, or the CS 120P and CS 26T Plus can be purchased separately to accommodate division-of-labor installations.

The innovative, patented two-piece design of the SpeedMount Ceiling Speaker System greatly simplifies installation of ceiling speakers, especially when a large quantity is needed for a facility. Instead of waiting until the final phase of installation, when ceiling access is limited, a low-voltage contractor can begin during rough-in by placing a CS 120P enclosure into the ceiling grid, and running speaker cable through it. This leaves the AV installer with a simple procedure of connecting the CS 26T Plus speaker cartridge to the wiring and securing it into the enclosure.

1' x 2' Plenum Rated Enclosure

The CS 120P plenum rated enclosure features a shallow 5" (12.7 cm) profile, which simplifies installation into congested ceiling spaces around piping and ducts. The integrated tile bridge of the enclosure rests with the ceiling tile on the grid, evenly distributing the weight of the enclosure and the CS 26T Plus. This avoids the need to assemble V‑rails and C‑rings, greatly reducing the number of installation steps and the chance of losing installation hardware. Additionally, the CS 120P is reinforced to minimize acoustical vibrations.

Two-Way Speaker Cartridge

The CS 26T Plus speaker cartridge installs quickly and easily into the CS 120P enclosure. With a frequency range of 42 Hz to 20 kHz, the CS 26T Plus is optimized for a wide range of paging and audio presentation applications for music, program, and voice. Music reproduction is enhanced with the exceptional low-frequency response of the woofer. An innovative tweeter bridge provides smooth off-axis response and offers wide 112° conical coverage for flexibility in speaker spacing and placement. The CS 26T Plus features a power rating of 60 watts continuous pink noise and 120 watts continuous program capacity, as well as a tuned bass reflex port optimized for the CS 120P enclosure.

The CS 26T Plus speaker cartridge offers both direct 8 ohm or 70/100 volt operation with a behind-the-grille, six‑position selector switch. For room balancing with 70/100 volt systems, the selector switch allows for 32, 16, 8, 4, and 2 watt settings in 70 volt operation, and 32, 16, 8, and 4 watt settings for 100 volt operation.

The CS 26T Plus features a thin-edge bezel for a refined appearance on the ceiling. The grille attaches magnetically to the baffle and quickly snaps into place. The white grille and bezel can be painted to match the architectural elements of the environment.
