The Extron SF 8CT SUB is an in-ceiling subwoofer that complements the Extron range of ceiling speakers by extending the low frequency response in music and high performance audio applications. Designed to be mounted in the ceiling structure, the plenum rated SF 8CT SUB blends in with other ceiling speakers in the system. The 8" (203 mm) low frequency driver delivers rich bass for exceptional audio quality, even from smaller systems. With low and high impedance taps and an integrated low pass filter, the SF 8CT SUB offers the flexibility to meet a wide variety of system requirements.
The SF 8CT SUB extends the low frequency range of any ceiling or program speaker system for improved impact. A subwoofer can cost effectively turn a thin sounding system into a good music playback system or a good music playback system into a great one.
Flexible Installation
For distributed systems, the SF 8CT SUB has an integrated 70/100 volt transformer, allowing placement of multiple subwoofers within a space to provide even coverage from a single amplifier. Power taps at 64, 32, 16, and 8 watts enable the SF 8CT SUB to be placed in low ceiling rooms without being overpowering, or in low SPL applications where low frequencies require additional reinforcement to acheive equal loudness across the audio spectrum.
For installations where more power is required, the SF 8CT SUB can be connected in 8 ohm direct mode, offering up to 200 watts continuous program power handling capability.
A selectable 120 Hz, 6 dB per octave low pass filter is included to simplify setup without the need for additional crossovers.
Powerful Bass
Clean low frequencies, efficiently delivered, can significantly improve how content is received. The 8" driver of the SF 8CT SUB provides tight and powerful bass in a wide variety of applications. The addition of an SF 8CT SUB will eliminate the need to push lower frequencies through small ceiling speakers, resulting in clean bass and overall higher sound quality.
